The orthosis for neuroma is designed to decrease ground reactive force (GRF) under the lesser metatarsal heads and to separate the affected metatarsal heads. This will decrease pressure and trauma on the digital nerve.
The Neuroma device has a milled polypropylene shell with the following prescription:
- Heel cup – 14mm
- Width – wide
- Cast fill – minimum
- Inversion – 2°
- Rearfoot post material – polypropylene
- Rearfoot post motion – 0/0
- Topcover – black EVA to toes glued posterior half only
- Forefoot extension – 1.5mm Poron
- Neuroma pad (3rd interspace)
