Ankle Pain Orthotic Adjustment

Ankle Pain Orthotic Adjustment

A patient presented to the office with anterior ankle joint pain, impingement/synovitis. Most of her pain occurs when she wears flats and she says she loves her heels because her pain goes away. She wants to exercise in her athletic shoes more and wants to be comfortable. She otherwise has a minimally pronated foot type. What can you do with her orthotic?

We added a simple heel lift to her orthotics! This plantarflexes the talus and minimizes anterior impingement!
