Posterior Tibialis Dysfunction - Pathology and Treatment
The Posterior Tibialis Dysfunction (PTD) patient has a severe medial deviation of the subtalar joint axis. This limits the effectiveness of standard orthoses. Every possible measure must be taken to apply a supinatory force medial to the STJ axis. ProLab's PTD orthoses include a deep heel cup for rearfoot stability, standard fill, medial flange, and medial skive to control STJ motion. A navicular tuberosity sweet spot can be requested for patients with potential for navicular irritation.
