Neuroma - Pathology and Treatment

Anecdotal evidence suggests that neuroma symptoms may relate to a hypermobile midtarsal joint. Limiting midtarsal joint motion and off-weighting the bordering metatarsal heads may improve symptoms, especially if they are induced by direct forefoot trauma. The Neuroma Orthoses are designed to decrease weightbearing force on the 3^rd intermetatarsal region of the foot.  Minimum cast fill is recommended to control midtarsal joint motion.
